Esperienza Virtuale: Zoom Tips

What is Zoom? 

Zoom is a virtual meeting place for individuals to connect. On Zoom, you can talk, video chat, and share prepared content such as photos and videos. For Esperienza’s Virtuale tours and language classes, we will use Zoom to connect with our members and our partners around the world to bring travel into your homes. 

Zoom Tips

In advance of the event, download the Zoom app onto the device you will use for the session. Click here for video instructions or click here to go directly to the Zoom website downloads page. For the best experience, we recommend using a computer or tablet rather than a cellphone, as you will want to comfortably watch the content being shared. 

We highly encourage you to watch this video on Joining Zoom, and using Audio and Camera features. If you still feel unsure, please join the Zoom meeeting 5-10 minutes prior to the event's start time so that our team can assist you.

Viewing

There are a few different settings in Zoom so that you can choose how to view the video, for this Conversation, we recommend using the Speaker View setting, which will allow you to switch between our host and our special guest. You’ll see this setting in the upper right of your Zoom screen.

If the speaker is screen sharing with you during a session, it will automatically go to full screen mode. Should you want to exit full screen mode in Zoom, simply hover over the upper left hand corner of the Zoom screen and hit the green button with an arrow. 

Interacting and Asking Questions

To ensure the best audio experience, all participants will have their microphones muted during the sessions. Should you have a question during the meeting, you can use the chat feature on Zoom. Simply hover over your Zoom screen and a bottom bar will populate with a chat button. Click the chat and type your question in the chat screen that will populate. At the end of the conversation, we will do our best to answer all questions.

Recording of Meeting

Each Zoom meeting will be recorded and by attending you are agreeing to the following: Permission to Use Recorded Program: Programs may be recorded by Esperienza and/or its third party partners for a variety of purposes, including promotional and other commercial activities, as well as for training purposes. If you elect to include either a live or a still image of yourself or your name during the Program, and if you choose to engage in the Program by asking questions or providing commentary, you understand and agree that your image, identity and/or the sound of your voice as recorded or audio or video will become part of the Program and therefore may be used by Esperienza and/or its third party partners for the above-described purposes without any payment or other consideration.
