Once again, the multi-hued fall leaves are pirouetting in the air and it is time for reflections. For me, Thanksgiving is the best of all holidays, and at Esperienza, we have so much for which to be grateful.
Where to start? First and foremost, we are thankful for you, the cultured, compassionate, caring traveler. The one who is dreaming of being in Italy in a truly authentic way, desiring to explore the treasures of small cities and villages away from the crowds, immersed in a simple lifestyle and renewed by the warmth of human connections.
Next, our friends and collaborators in Romagna, beginning with the one and only Susy Patrito, former director of Casa Artusi, who is now leading our culinary tours and making them intimate, informative and fun (as all of her new friends will confirm).
We are more than grateful to artists, musicians, chefs, poets and actors, too many to name, who welcomed us in their homes, both in person and virtually, and made our time together so special and inspiring.
Last but not least, we are grateful for the opportunities to make a genuine difference in each other's lives. Esperienza is now in its 5th year as a non-profit organization. Thanks to your interest and participation, there are new benches and trees near Pennabilli, restoration of orchards with forgotten, antique fruits, revival of local crafts in Verucchio, and new support for ceramics artists in Faenza.
Again, too many to list them all... but perhaps it means that together, we can help create an even bigger story: bringing back a strong measure of humanity, solidarity and conviviality to these troubled times.
Often in our fast-paced days, we are unaware of the immense, but latent gratitude list we carry within. Having time each year to reflect upon this is a generous gift. Unwrap it slowly, and relive the unique and rare moments we give each other.
Happy Thanksgiving,
Anna and Team Esperienza
